2009: 15 years of Women of Note

2009 was a special year for Women of Note, as we celebrated 15 years since this very special group was formed. To mark the anniversary, we released a new CD, Glorious Madness, which we launched at a concert of music in May.

It was a great year for the group. In January, we sang two fundraising concerts of Forgotten Carols - a wonderful selection of little-known carols, arranged by Scottish songwriter Ali Burns.

In March, we took part in a concert in St Paul's Centre, Hills Road, to raise money for refugees and for a Cambodian orphanage looking after children with HIV/Aids.

In May, we had our main concert, with the launch of our new CD.

In July, we had a fantastic weekend at the annual Street Choir Festival, which in 2009 was held in the wonderful seaside town of Whitby.

Later in the year, we sang among the gorgeous gardens of National Trust property Anglesey Abbey, as part of the property's Dahlia Festival, and we returned there before Christmas for a wonderful evening, which included singing among the lantern-lit trees of the winter garden.
